Have you ever wondered someone we find attractive doesn’t look attractive to our friend? The world of attraction is incredibly diverse. There are countless ways we can be attracted to someone no matter how we look.
Perfect weight, perfect body, perfect hips, perfect height, perfect skin, etc. are the things we generally desire for ourselves but actually attraction goes away beyond these beauty standards. Despite we may think good looking is really important, looks are not the only way we are attracted to each other.
It is actually our science that works harder than our eyes. According to scientists, the moment we feel attracted to somebody other than their looks we subconsciously check out their genes, hormones, energy type, personality, cultural and religious backgrounds, accent, life experiences and many more things.
Smell
After we meet the person, our nose picks up natural chemical signals known as pheromones. Men and women judge each other differently based on smell. Men get testosterone boost when they smell ovulating women while women like the smell of men whose MHC (Major Histocompatibility complex)molecules differ from them. Different MHC molecule provide stronger baby that leads to strong immune system in baby. We all make this decision subconsciously.
Hormones
In attraction hormones plays important role in creating our type. Dopamine people are attracted to other dopamine people. Serotonin people are attracted to serotonin people. Testosterone people are very analytical and tough and are attracted to their opposite which are estrogen/oxytocin people. This means dopamine person will often choose dopamine person over a highly attractive testosterone person.
Voice
Research shows men prefer high-pitched and breathy voice that indicate small body size while female prefer low pitched voice that indicate large body.
Being attracted to person is just like different people liking different music but that doesn’t mean one genre is better than the other.
Thus, everyone can be beautiful to someone. We should forget the beauty standards and be confident. We cannot change the way we look but can change the way we see ourself.
